Random New Releases And Reccomendations

Hi there.

I haven't been posting anything on here lately, been busy with some other things and some other projects. I am currently working on a new site. I'm not completely sure about what I am going to do with that site but it is going to be about genre films.

Well, the industry has been working full throttle and I wanted to talk to you about some great releases..

First I wanted to let you know about an upcoming release from Severin Films that I am very excited about, It's Joe D'Amato's Erotic film The Alcove.. It's coming out the 23th of February, and it will be a great upgrade from my German DVD release. All though I will keep that in my collection because it's a beauty!!

Blue Underground is doing a great job for the Blu-Ray junkies out there, they just confirmed a new release for City Of The Living Dead. I hope you also got the new Toolbox Murders blu-ray because that's a must own.

In March Day Of The Dead will be released on Blu-ray by Arrow. And off course it will have more than one cover, I really love the Japanese one!

"Yes, it will restore the original dialogue. The US Anchor Bay blu does feature an uncensored mono track, but the high frequencies are heavily distorted. The Arrow blu, with its fully restored and lossless audio, will be the one to beat."

One that I can't wait to have in my collection is the new Mondo Macabro release 'The Sadist With Red Teeth' which also will include Forbidden Paris... Long live the belgian genre films!

I am still waiting for 13 movies to come in, and one of those is Maarten Van Druten's Zombiegore, which is a Dutch independent horror flick!

The other titles are: Redneck Zombies, American Movie, Horror House On Highway 5, Traces Of Death II, Traces Of Death III, Faces Of Death, Treasure Of The Amazon (Italian Shock), Scrapbook, Guts Of A Virgin, Guts Of A Beauty, Nightmare City (Italian Shock), The Smuggler (Italian Shock).. I allready had some of these but a lot of these are old dutch releases which I like to collect.

I also recently got The Abomination, which I will probably write a review for!

The Abomination that which makes all things desolate....

Bronx Warriors Tin coming out 12-7-09

Shameless Screen Entertainment is one of my favorite labels (I know, I have a lot if favorites). They have released some great movies on really nice DVDs. One of the best things about this label is that every DVD is individually numbered.. so if you have one, you got to have them all. They have released such great classics as: Phantom Of Death, Torso, The Frightened Woman and even Ratman!!
By my knowledge only two of there DVDs are cut: Venus In Furs and The New York Ripper.
There new release will be a f*cking awesome Bronx Warriors Tin. It will be released on: 7 December!

Here some pics of this ultra cool tin box:

Bronx Warriors Front and Reverse:

Bronx Warriors 2 Front and Reverse:
Got to love those awesome double sided sleeves! I love the 80's style artwork and the yellow Shameless DVD cases fit the artwork perfectly.
This boxset also comes with The New Barbarians! To me a must buy!

Exploitation Is Art: Random Poster Picks

I was thinking of something new I could post on here since I have a little time to post something finally. I thought it would be fun to post 10 filmposters that I like. Not in any specific order or anything, just some that I came across just recently and saved on my harddrive. And you can never see enough posters can you ?
I'll be posting nice poster/memorabilia/covers more often!

These posters all came from one great site: http://www.wrongsideoftheart.com/. Check it out, it's an amazing site and I hope they don't mind me posting these posters! But like I said, these posters never get old and should be seen!

Schoolgirl In Chains (1973) USA, Directed by Donald M. Jones and starring: T.R. Blackburn, Greta Gayland and Herb Goldstein.

The Toolbox Murders (1978) USA, Directed by Dennis Donnely and starring: Cameron Mitchell, Pamelyn Ferdin and Wesley Eure.

La Montagna del Dio Cannibale (1978) Italy, Directed by Sergio Martino and starring: Stacy Keach, Ursula Andress and Claudio Cassinelli.

Revenge Of The Ninja (1983) USA, Directed by Sam Firstenberg and starring: Shô Kosugi, Keith Vitali and Virgil Frye.

Gojira VS Mosura (1992) Japan, Directed by Takao Okawara and starring: Tetsuya Bessho, Satomi Kobayashi and Takehiro Murata

Gli Ultimi Zombi (1979) Italy, Directed by Lucio Fulci and starring: Tisa Farrow, Ian McCulloch and Al Cliver
Apocalypse Domani (1980) Italy/Spain, Directed by Antonio Margheriti and starring John Saxon, Elizabeth Turner and Giovanni Lombardo Radice.

Barbarella (1968) France/Italy, Directed by Roger Vadim and starring: Jane Fonda, David Hemmings and Ugo Tognazzi.

La Conquista (1983) Italy/Spain/Mexico, Directed by Lucio Fulci and starring Jorge Rivero, Andrea Occhipinti and Conrado San Martín.

Schiave Bianche: Violenza In Amazzonia (1985) Italy, Directed by Mario Gariazzio and starring Elvire Audray, Neal Berger and James Boyle.

As you see they don't have anything to do with each other. And I did that because I wanted a list with many different poster styles and from different subgenres of films. I chose some of these because of the wonderful art and for example I chose Gojira VS Mosura because of it's busy Japanese style of art. I love all of these posters and I hope you do too. I will post these every now and then and sometimes maybe some VHS artwork or postcards or whatever. I hope you like it.. That was it for this post now I am going to watch Something Weird Video's Satanis The Devils Mass!

Stormovie: Emanuelle In America and Caligula II: The Untold Story

Last week I got in two new DVDs. Emanuelle In America and Caligula 2: The Untold Story released by the Italian DVD company Stormovie. Both are great releases, the picture quality and audio are great.

Emanuelle In America is the completely uncut version with all the hardcore scenes, snuff footage and the infamous horse scene. It’s in 1.85:1 Anamorphic widescreen. It has English, Italian, French and German language and Italian subs. Plus some really great extra’s on the second disc witch are all in Italian:

"Joe D'Amato: Totally Uncut Erotic Experience" -documentary (60 mins)
"Remembering A Friend" documentary
Interview with Laura Gemser
Photo Gallery Biography/Filmography for D'Amato and Gemser

Caligola La Storia Mai Raccontata (The Untold Story) is also a fantastic release (the movie is fantastic also). You get the 125 minutes completely uncut XXX version of the movie in 1.66:1 Anamorphic Widescreen. It has English and Italian language and Italian subs.
If that’s not enough on the second disc you get the original Italian 103 min. version and also some more cool extra’s.

About the movies:
Emanuelle In America is an amazing sexploitation like no other. Joe D’Amato did a very good job on this film. The snuff scenes are incredibly realistic! I don’t what else you want from a movie apart from: Joe D’Amato, Laura Gemser, sex, snuff scenes and an amazing soundtrack!

Caligola La Storia Mai Raccontata: Great roman empire sexploitation film with an amazing performance from one of my favorite actors: David Brandon! You get a lot of sex, violence and a lot of crazy scenes. One of the most memorable scenes is with the old guy who is puking, eating and kissing a girl all at the same time! Yes, Joe D’Amato really knew how to put some filthy scenes in his movies!

Stormovie has a lot of genre release. These are some of them: Code Name: Wild Geese, Jaws 5: Cruel Jaws, Fraulein In Uniforme, Killing House and many more. From sexploitation to Jungle Commando flicks! They have it all.

Just a quick message!

Hello there! Finally got time to put something on here again. All though it’s nothing about movies. The reason I haven’t been posting anything new is because I am very busy at the moment. I have a little bit of time at the moment to on an occasional base get something on here. At least I am going to try to post some things on here.

There are some good thing happening in the world of horror and exploitation.
Like you all know Arrow is releasing Dawn Of The Dead (Original off course) on Blu-Ray! With some very cool things like a nice poster.. The sad thing is that only the theatrical cut is on blu-ray and the director’s cut and Argento cut are on standard DVD.

Another cool thing is a Double Feature DVD with Uninvited and Mutant!! Hell yes.

And before I forget on January the 26, the original Toolbox Murders comes out on Blu-ray, thanks to Blue Underground. Actually the blu-rays are not that interesting to me because I haven’t started with blu-ray yet. And I all ready have The Toolbox Murders on VHS! Maybe I’ll make a photo or a scan of that and post it tomorrow. But that Uninvited and Mutant are a def. buy for me.

Later,

Tom
